Are You a Man Under 30 Years? Here are Under-30-Years Commandments

9 Advices to a Man Under 30 Years  Growing up, I never had the privilege to get advice from a 30-year-old man on what awaited me when I hit the third floor. I guess growing up with a career dad did not do me all the good but he did his part by ensuring that we had a comfortable life. I therefore had to figure things out myself after getting to 30 years old. Here are my lessons that might also help you. 1. Until you have defined what life is, never commit to a woman. 2. Do not take long before you move out of your parents' house. Even as you do this, always be ready to go back when things do not work out, because at some point in life, you will need to rethink and restrategise. 3. If you have an income in your 20s, use that money to build yourself. If you are into land, buy as much as you can. I always tell my students, if at any point in life, you have the resources but do not know where to invest, just go and buy a piece of land.  4. Do not spend more than two years in a job ...

Gen Zs Shouldn't Tolerate

As a millennial, I now know what they did to us, and probably what they did to our parents so that they could do whatever they deemed fit. Thank goodness, we had a chance to raise our young siblings and shield them from the Gen X and baby boomers syndrome that made Moi and the other dictatorial leaders have a field day. Kibaki never did leaders with Moi-esque any good by giving us free education and improved infrastructure that made access to information easy. We are at a time when information is everywhere. In such times, Gen Zs should never allow the normalisation of: 1. Being threatened. Because it is through such that fear is instilled. As young kids, they never allowed us to ask questions. Punishment was like a death sentence, all in the name of "instilling discipline." 2. Be looked down upon. Always know your value, and do not let any person demean you. 3. Suppression: If something does not work well with you, just say it. The worst they can do to you is what you have...

Beware of the New Trick Used by Bolt Drivers

Amidst the many complaints by the Kenyan taxi drivers, especially those on the Bolt platform, about the rising cost of fuel, the platform has not considered this and done a price review; some of them have devised ways of "stealing" from innocent clients. Normally, when you request a ride, the price charged is indicated, and the client decides whether they will pick that specific ride. So on Wednesday, a friend of mine used Bolt to request a ride from Nairobi West to Upper Hill. From the app, the amount was 260 shillings, and up to the point when she was almost alighting, the amount was still the same. So when he reached his destination, he paid the Bolt guy the 260 bob, but to his surprise, he was informed that the cost was 380 shillings. "How is this possible, yet it was 240?" He gently asked because he did not want to cause any altercations. The guy informed him that she should confirm from his side, and true to his word, the amount was 380 shillings. When he to...

Master the ART of Dark Psychology

Photo: Courtesy   I am sure ya'll have found yourselves in uncomfortable situations. A situation where your boss or an older person demeans you. That would happen in the 1980s and '90s because people lived in fear. Children were punished and put into situations as if it were the end of the world. Earlier generations were taught to submit and never question anything, but Gen Z cannot accept such nonsense. The millennials went through the same torment, but they are slowly coming out of it. Here are several psychology hacks that can help you put someone who is demeaning you into his/her own place. Dark psychology has for a long time been used by narcissists, but you can also use it for your own benefit. Without considering gaslighting,...
